Ceramide NP: a closer look at the ingredient
Ceramide NP is one of the conditioning ingredients listed in Get Glazy serum.
Ceramides are a family of lipids. Cosmetic ingredient assessments describe their use in hair-conditioning products. You can read the Expert Panel for Cosmetic Ingredient Safety assessment for background on this ingredient family.
Our ingredient list also includes silicones, botanical oils and hydrolyzed proteins. We present the full list on the product page so you can see the formula as a whole.
Understanding the research
A published study of a particular ceramide in shampoo reported reduced breakage in chemically relaxed hair under the study conditions. The researchers studied C18-dhCer, a different ceramide, in a different product.
That study offers background on ceramides. Claims about Get Glazy, including bond repair or heat and UV protection, require evidence from testing our finished formula. This article provides ingredient education.
For everyday use, smooth a small amount of serum through your lengths and ends for a softer feel and a glossier finish. Adjust the amount to your hair and follow the directions on the product page.
