Peptide hair serum: ingredients and your routine

Get Glazy's peptide hair serum contains Oligopeptide-1, Hydrolyzed Keratin and Ceramide NP, alongside silicones and botanical oils. This leave-in capsule serum comes in three formulas. Here is a closer look at those ingredients and how to choose a formula for your hair.

Peptides in the Get Glazy ingredient list

Oligopeptide-1 is the peptide named in Get Glazy's ingredient list. It is a separate ingredient from Hydrolyzed Keratin and the other hydrolyzed proteins.

Look at the whole formula as well as individual ingredients. If dry-feeling lengths are your main concern, explore our peptide hair serum for dry and damaged hair and its full ingredient list. An ingredient name alone does not establish how a finished serum performs.

Ceramide NP in your hair serum

Ceramide NP is another ingredient in Get Glazy's formulas. It appears alongside the oils, silicones and proteins that make up the serum.

Our guide to Ceramide NP for hair explains this ingredient in more detail. You can also find the full formula on each product page.

Hydrolyzed keratin and botanical oils

The formula contains Hydrolyzed Keratin, along with argan, coconut and jojoba oils. These are distinct from Oligopeptide-1.

Why it's a leave-in capsule

Get Glazy is a leave-in serum. Twist open a capsule, spread a small amount between your palms and smooth it through mid-lengths and ends on damp or dry hair. Start with less on fine or short hair. There is no rinsing step.

Glazy contains Dimethicone, Dimethiconol and Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein PG-Propyl Silanetriol, ingredients used in heat-protective hair care. For hot tools, follow the directions for your serum, heat-protection product and styling tool.

For more on these ingredient roles, see Momentive's guide to silicone-based hair serums and Croda's example with Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein PG-Propyl Silanetriol. Finished-product performance depends on the full formula and how it is used.

Frequently asked questions

Is a peptide hair serum good for damaged hair?

A leave-in serum can be a finishing step for dry-feeling lengths and rough ends. Choose a formula for your hair concern, start with a small amount and adjust based on how your hair feels.

How often should I use a peptide hair serum?

Follow the formula's directions and adjust the amount to your hair. Apply to damp hair after washing or use a little on dry ends as needed. Fine or short hair may need less than a whole capsule.

How do I use it with heated styling tools?

Glazy contains Dimethicone, Dimethiconol and Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein PG-Propyl Silanetriol, ingredients used in heat-protective hair care. For hot tools, follow the directions for your serum, heat-protection product and styling tool.

Is it a leave-in serum or do I rinse it out?

Leave it in. Spread the serum between your palms, smooth it through mid-lengths and ends, and follow your usual styling routine.
